3 Ninjas: High Noon At Mega Mountain

Rating - 4

This film is a sequel to a great film, which unfortunately didn't seem to hold the same success as the original. It depicts three children being taught martial arts by the grandfather (Victor Wong). The children, two of which are in the midst of adolescence, begin to desire a life that doesn't include obstacle courses and defending themselves against sand bags. However as they take a trip to an amusement park, they are forced to save the lives of the park-goers from a group of terrorists with the help of television hero, Dave Dragon (Hulk Hogan).

The storyline isn't so much the problem so I won't spend too much time on it. The idea that the three characters never seem to have a serious disequilibrium to deal with. Despite minor difficulties, they always seem to be in control of the situation. This, despite in many eyes being a disadvantage, to me is a refreshing change and one of the only things about the film I did enjoy.

The major whole in the film was the acting. Mediocre actors filling mediocre roles will result in a mediocre film but this is just embarrassing for some of the people roped into these parts. Victor Wong, Loni Anderson and Jim Varney are all disappointing but none compare to the dire performance of the washed up wrestler Hulk Hogan. For all I can tell, the script could be amazingly written but Hogan's emotionless portrayal except the fakest of fake smiles is laughable.

All in all, a four for this is pretty generous from me and as much as I like to give the benefit of the doubt, even when it isn't earned, this can not even be worthy of that I'm afraid. The pour actors playing poor performance, speaking a poor script, inbetween poor cuts. This film is riddled with problems which even a great like Ben Wheatley or Wes Anderson could fix
